This is a well-known temple and there is a beautiful park nearby. First of all, it should be reminded that this temple is not in Taipei City, and taking a bus in Linkou District(New Taipei City) is a bit more difficult than taking a bus in Taipei. The reason is because Taoyuan Airport MRT station A9 is on the border between New Taipei City and Taoyuan City. Although you can go to this temple by public transportation, it is a bit more complicated than driving by yourself.
You can arrive at Taoyuan Airport MRT station A8 or A9 first, and then take the bus. Bus information can be found from this government website and google map, or you can download the 台北等公車 app. Most importantly, please remember to switch to the English interface. However, Bus 708 is not recommended, because it’s easy to get in the wrong direction if you get on this bus. There are so many bus routes to this temple, and the nearest pick-up and drop-off locations are not exactly the same, but other bus routes are not easy to take the wrong direction.

For example, you can start from Taoyuan MRT A9 Linkou Station, walk or ride a ubike to Linkou Post Office, take bus 966 from the bus stop at the entrance of the post office to your destination, and get off at "European Street"（歐風大街＝ōu fēng dà jiē ）. The bus stop "European Street" is only 450 meters away from the temple. You might be confused about "Europe Street" because the surrounding scenery has nothing to do with Europe. "European Street" is just the name of a building.

假設是從桃園MRT A9林口站走出來，不需過馬路，直接從位於文化三路的公車站牌「捷運林口站」上車，可以搭乘公車945或946，於「林口農會二」下車，再步行700m即可抵達竹林山觀音寺。
另一種方式，是先走到位於文化二路一段的「安敦新世界」站牌上車（搭車方向應與林口郵局同一側），可以搭乘858/920/925/786/708。若在「安敦新世界」上車，搭乘858（大約會經過九個停靠站，離峰時期的車程只需十分鐘），在「林口農會」下車，再步行750m就能抵達目的地。從A9站出發走到「安敦新世界」公車站牌搭車的這個方式，包含下車後的步行時間，最快大約35分鐘可以抵達竹林山寺公園。
當天似乎只有我跟朋友是搭公車去，大部分的人都是騎機車或開車。搭公車的話，若在桃園龜山區上車，要注意搭對方向，有好幾條路線可以到。但雙北公車會比桃園公車更好辨識、不容易迷惑（更多公車資訊在本文的末端，若有需要，可以作為參考）。良心建議，如果對當地不熟悉，最好是不要搭乘708公車。

還有其他公車路線可以抵達，只是列出幾個比較常見的公車號碼。究竟搭哪一號公車最快，可能還是先想一下離自己最近的公車站牌在哪，再搜尋「台北等公車」的app會比較準確。剛好沒有汽、機車，又不想叫計程車或uber的朋友，可以試試看搭公車前往，這是一座莊嚴的寺廟，旁邊還有一個美麗的公園，如果有空可以去一趟，但建議避開假日的人潮。
